Grandma turns 90!

Grandma Gotwalt turned 90 on August 18th. We had a surprise party for her at Lorri & Jerry's home. It was a great day for all involved and even though the temperature was in the high 90's, everyone had a wonderful day. As for Grandma or Nana as the great and great grandkids call her, she was very suprised and we all hope we have her genes so we can live to be 90!
Here are a few pics from the day.

Yummy cake!

Grandma/Nana in the green surrounded by grandkids Terri, Lorri, Kim, Steve and great grandkids Kristen and Joni

While the adults were celebrating, the kids were swimming in the awesome Thanos pool. Great-Great grandson Dominic and Great granddaughters Ashtyn and Beth smile for the camera!

Jeff and Sarah are having a baby.....

We are so excited that Jeff and Sarah will be parents come January 2008. Scott can't wait to be a grandpa. Here is a picture of baby Coleman at 13 weeks and 1 day old. Sarah and Jeff have opted to be surprised regarding the sex of the baby. Boy or Girl? Anybody want to take a guess? Hey, is that baby sucking it's thumb al ready?

Dominic's coming to Grandma's house.....

Dominic hasn't been to our house since New Years 2007. Can't wait for him to spend the week with us while Kristen and Steve are honeymooning in Kauai. We have lots of fun activities planned including taking Dominic to the Fair, going camping and just hanging around helping us out with chores. Who knows, maybe he will even ride one of the horses this trip. We love having Dominic stay with us.....but we are usually exhausted when he goes home :)

Summer garden is thriving.....

Our fruits of labor from spring planting are now providing us lots of fresh veggies. There's nothing like walking out to the garden and picking a few fresh choices for dinner! Here are a few pics of what's growing. Oh, and the flowers, those are all my doing....Scott says if you can't eat it, why grow it.

Second wave of corn. We already ate a bunch,
gave some away and froze a bunch for winter

I've been waiting for this rhubard to turn red
so I can bake a scrumptious rhubarb pie.

Got to have fresh basil...what would a garden
be with out it?

I was going to pick some fresh lavender to
put in the house, but the bee's were having
too much fun, so I'll wait for them to take a nap.

Mmmm....yummy eggplant

Pumpkins are turning orange early this year
that means early pumpkin pie and great jack o
lantern carving!

A few more weeks and these watermelons
will be ripe and ready.

Tomatoes gone wild...and we've already picked
a ton, made a bunch of salsa and gave a bunch away.

Bell peppers just waiting to turn red so they
are sweeter!

And last but not least......my favorite sunflower so far this year!
